これは”Christine “というドラマからのショートクリップです。この中に先日のポストで紹介したフレーズ “nympho”が出てきます。nympho(nymphomaniac)とはセック好きで性欲の強い女性のことです。

Woman 1: Until intermission, and then you’re next to me.

Christine: Well, I haven’t been this popular since that nympho rumor went around about me at High School…I’m not a nympho, just regular!

日本語訳

Christine: 席取っててくれてありがとう。

Woman 1:　幕間までね!　後半は私の横に座ってよっ。

Christine: こんなに人気者になったのは高校時代にセックス狂っていう噂が流れて以来だわ…。私はそんな淫乱な女じゃないわよ、普通よ。

もし、彼女がこのドラマの中で言っているように高校時代にそういう噂が飛び交っていたなら、同じ学校の男の子達に大人気だったでしょうね。あなたの学校にセックス好きやセックス狂と呼ばれていた女の子はいましたか?英語ではそういう女性のことを”nympho”と言います。

英語訳:This is a short clip from the show Christine and it gives an example of the word nympho we studied recently.  Nympho (short for nymphomaniac) is slang for a woman who likes to have a lot of sex.

So of course if she had that rumor flying around high school that she was a nympho and sex-crazy then she would be very popular with the young guys indeed.  Did you have a girl at your school that was talked about as she was crazy about sex?  In English you would have called her a nympho.
