初デートの心得 First date tips

先日、今までに88回デートを経験したことのある女性が書いた”初デートの心得”という記事を新聞で見つけました こちらは彼女のブログです このブログでもちょうどデートに関する英語スラングについて先週触れたところですし、下に新聞の内容を紹介したいと思います。

初デートの心得

• 初デートでは、夕食を家で食べるなどといった、相手を家にあがらせるようなことはしないこと。家にあがるという事はあなたがSEXをOKしているとも取られかねないし、もし何度かデートを重ねても相手の事が好きになれなかったら、後々面倒なことになるので家には誘わないほうが良い。
• 夏ならビーチなどに散歩に出かけると良い。人ごみにまみれて逃げ出すことも可能ですしね!
• いつでも上手くいかなかった時の為に途中で抜けられるような口実を用意しておくこと。友達に会わないといけないとか、仕事を終わらせないといけないなど。
• バーで出会った男性とそのまま家に帰らないように。その代わりに名刺や電話番号をもらうとよい。
• 出張(旅行)中に出会いがあった場合は、その相手が結婚しているか必ず先に確認する事。単刀直入に聞くことが大切!
• パソコンのサイトでの出会いの場合、初デートはカフェなどがベスト。相手が少しワイルドなタイプの人でも混みあったカフェなら安心です。一杯のコーヒーなら相手が退屈な人でも長居をしなくてすみますしね!

I read an interesting article in the newspaper on first date tips from a woman who had gone on 88 dates and written a guide on internet dating.  I thought it was topical as we are looking at English slang about dating at the moment.Do you have any interesting stories about dating?  I love to hear terrible first date stories!

Don’t invite them home for dinner as this will give the sign that you want sex and if you don’t end up liking them, you are stuck with them for a long time!

going for a walk on a beach is a good idea in summer – you can always escape into the crowds

Always have an escape excuse in case it doesn’t go well – you could say you are going to the gym, meeting friends, need to finish some work

Don’t take men home when you first meet them at a bar, take home their business card or phone number instead

If you meet someone when you are on a business trip, ask if they are married! Be direct!

First date when meeting someone you have met online on a dating site: a busy cafe is best, then you can be safe in case they are a bit weird!  Coffee is also not too long a date in case they are boring!
