Questions are Key　”質問” がキーポイント

良い例: What kind of music do you like?　どんな音楽が好き?
悪い例: How big are your tits?　　胸のサイズは何カップ?

What / How / Where / Who / When / Which   ～?
これらを用いた質問を”Open Questions”と言います。これらは質問を受けた者が”Yes”"No”だけで答えられない質問形式なので、会話が長続きします。

見た目を聞かれた時に使える”white lie”の例文

A: Does my ass look big in this dress? このドレス着るとお尻大きく見えるかな?

このように、大体の”white lies”は、相手の気持ちを思ってつくとっても小さな嘘です。日本でも同じようなことしますか?

We looked at white lies in our dating slang posts last week and we looked at the definition of white lies yesterday, and today I’m going to give you some examples.  White lies are culturally acceptable for us – they can make your life much easier!

So mostly white lies are very small and usually to stop you hurting other people’s feelings.  Is this done in Japan as well?

アーバン英英辞書で”White lies”の意味は、

そう…この単語の大体の感じは掴めましたか?　“white lie”とは、誰かの気持ちを尊重し、故意につく小さな罪のない嘘のことです。

英語バージョン

We looked very briefly at white lies in last week’s post on English dating language.
This week let’s look at what they really mean.

Urban dictionary defines white lie as:

white lie: a lie with good intentions

Q: How do I look in this dress?
A: Uh… you look good…

So what does that mean really?  It means that when you tell a small lie, that is not about something important often because you are trying to be nice or kind, then it is a white lie.  I’ll give you some examples tomorrow.

日本人がよくしてしまう英語のミス

一見あっているようで、ものすごいことをたまに言ってしまったりしているものなんです

私の友達(日本人) が彼女の友達(アメリカ人) に”“(中指を立てて相手をバカにする動作。日本でもアメリカでもこれはとても悪い意味です)をジョークでされたので、彼女はその友達に英語でこう言いました。

“Did you just finger me?”

これを聞いたアメリカ人の友達は、爆笑したそうです

何故でしょうか?? 実は彼女が言った”Did you just finger me?”を日本語に訳すと「今手マン(女性器に指で快感を与える動作)した?」と言う意味になってしまうからです!!!

では、「今、私に中指立てたでしょ!!!」と怒りたいときは何と言えばいいのでしょうか??

“Did you just flip me off?”

flip off 　～に中指を立てる

“flip”が出てきたのでもう一つ。。。”flip　out“で”キレる”(物凄く怒る)という意味になります。　例: She  flipped out. 彼女はキレた。

Fuck buddyとはセックスフレンドの事です。セックスフレンドは彼氏ではない訳でお互い縛られる物がなく自由です。

Fuck buddies are friends that we have sex with.  They are not a boyfriend and there is no commitment.

期待度：
あなた達二人ともがセックスフレンドとしての関係から同じモノを望めることがとても大切です。あなたの相手がセックスだけの関係を望んでいることに対してあなたが怒ってみたり、自分の考えを変えたりするようではダメです。もしあなたが考えを途中で変えたのならそのことについて相手と話し合って下さい。もしあなたの相手が一度でもあなたと同じように思えないのであればもうその関係を止めるべきです。

Expectations:
It is very important that you both want the same thing from the relationship (ie sex!) and nothing else.  It is not OK to change your mind and act resentfully that your partner still wants the same thing (ie just sex).  It is OK to talk about it if you change your mind, but only once and if your fuck-buddy doesn’t feel the same way, you should stop the arrangement.

下記の項目は、セフレに対して一般的に「こうであって欲しいな～」と思われていることです。でももしお互いが同意すればあなた自身で好きなルールを作ることも出来ますよ。

1. もしあなたのセフレが仕事の為に早起きしないといけなくてあなたを家に残して去らなければならない場合、その相手が戻ってくる前までにあなたは帰るべきである。

7. あなたの持ち物（歯ブラシ、ピアス、ベルト、下着）を彼の家に残さない（注意を引く為の策略だと見られる）
8. 彼の服を持って帰るな！
9. 彼の歯ブラシを使うな！
10. 公共の場、友達の前で抱きついたりキスをしたりロマンチックな行動をとるな！

There seems to be some general expectations about fuck-buddies, but as with all things, you can make your own rules up, as long as you both agree:
1.    If your buddy has to get up early from their place for work and leaves you sleeping, you should be gone by the time they get back.
2.    And generally you shouldn’t stay too long in the morning.
3.    No drunken declarations of love please!
4.    You can text all call late at night to see if your fuck buddy is free for a “booty call”.
5.    No talking about the “relationship”, there isn’t one, there is just sex!
6.    There is no jealousy or anger in this relationship (well the only annoyance is if you go down on him and he doesn’t go down on you…then you have every right to be annoyed!).
7.    Do not leave your things (toothbrush, earrings, belt, underwear) at your fuck buddy’s home (this is seen as a trick for more attention).
8.    Do not take your fuck-buddy’s clothing.
9.    Do not use your fuck-buddy’s toothbrush.
10.  Do not act romantically (ie hugging, kissing) in front of friends and in public.

 誰かに「痩せたね」と言いたいとき
You’ve lost weight
  誰かに「太ったね」と言いたいとき（注意して言いましょう）
You’ve put on weight.
You’ve gained weight.

日本人は欧米人に比べると身近な人に対してダイレクトに「太った」と言いますが、英語圏では避けるべきです。もしあなたが外国人の彼女から殴られたいならば話は別ですが・・・。

英語圏では体重や身体に関することはとても話題にしにくいことです。友達や家族と話すときでさえも気をつけなければなりません。とくに女性に関しては細心の注意が必要です！人の外見を話すことは日本ではよく見受けられますが、欧米人との会話では十分に気をつけてください。背がとても高い人に「身長はいくつ？」などという質問などは嫌がられます。私は、日本のテレビでコメンテーターが「おっぱい大きいですね～」といっているのを聞いたときはすごく驚きました。欧米のテレビでそのようなコメントを聞くことは絶対に無いです。

Talking about weight 体重に関する話題
Slim:（良い意味で痩せている）
魅力的に痩せているという意味でベストな表現です。
Thin and Skinny:（悪い意味で痩せている）
やせ過ぎ、ガリガリという意味が込められていてマイナスな表現と受け取られます。
Average-build and Medium-build（標準的な体型）
太っているのと痩せているの中間、標準的な体型の表現です。
Heavy （良い意味で太っている）
太っている人に対しての丁寧な表現です。
Fat（悪い意味で太っている）
thinと同様に太っている人に対して直接この表現は使用しません。これはとても侮辱的な表現です。気をつけてください！
