2008 is finished and I wanted to share with my readers the highlights of the year for me:

Seattle Space Needle

Traveling and visiting friends

↑恋人のローランドと友達を訪れながら色々な国を旅しました。

Roland and I traveled around the world visiting friends, which was also fun!

Engaged in Turkey!

↑旅の途中トルコで彼と婚約しました。We got engaged in Turkey…

We got married!

↑そして、私の故郷ニュージーランドに戻り結婚。and eloped (got married) back in NZ!

色々なことがあった1年でした。2009年、みなさんにとってよい年でありますように～!!

So it has been a great year!  I want to wish everyone a great 2009 and good luck to everyone in achieving their dreams.

素敵なクリスマスを楽しんでいますか?

私がいますニュージーランドは日本と逆で今は夏です。夏のクリスマスってなんだか皆さんには聞きなれないかもしれませんが私たちはBBQをしながらクリスマスを迎えます。ニュージーランドへはサンタはサーフィンをしながらやってくるかもしれませんね

Hi all,

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!  We will be taking a 2 week break, but in that time, we will put up some of our more popular posts again in case you want to revise over the break.  You know you can never have too much revision (yuck I know!).

It is a summer Christmas here, so I have a barbecue to look forward to and I think Santa might be surfing over to NZ!

Ginn's Hot Springs, Ngawha

私のブログの内容とはちょっとずれていますが…もう直ぐクリスマス、お正月とイベントがたくさんやってくるので、今日はそんなホリデーの休暇にピッタリのおすすめスポットをみなさんにご紹介したいと思います。もしニュージーランドに来る機会がありましたら温泉の情報が載っているこのウェブサイトを是非チェックしてみてください。NgaWhaにありますGinn’sというところが私のオススメです。(写真に写っている場所です)1940年代にとある家族がこの場所を買ったのですがその奥さんの持病リウマチを3週間このお湯につかっただけで治すことができたことからこの家族は温泉を始めることを決めたようです。見た目はあまり良い感じではありませんが、ものすごい効果のある臭いのきつ～いお湯がここでは体験できますよ。

ニュージーランドでは温泉に入るときでも水着を着て入ります。日本みたいに裸で入ってしまったらニュージーランド人は驚いてしまって大変なことになりかねないので注意してくださいねSouth IslandにあるMaruia Springsという温泉だけは日本の様式で入っていただけます! 試してみる価値アリですね それと、ハイキングに出かけて自然の温泉を見つけることもここでは可能ですよ。Rotoruaという人気な温泉の近くにあるKerosene Creek と呼ばれているところはそんなに山奥に行かなくても道から近い所にあります。

Now I know this is a bit off our topic but with holidays coming up, I thought I might give you a recommendation.  If you ever come over to NZ, you must check out this website for hot springs recommendations.  My favorite springs are Ginn’s at NgaWha – a very local place (pictured) but with the most amazing water.  The family who bought it in the 40s did so because the wife cured her rheumatism after soaking in the water for 3 weeks!  So it is not fancy but does have great stinky water.

In NZ usually you need to wear a swim suit, don’t go jumping in naked, people will be quite shocked!  There is one Japanese style onsen in the South Island, called Maruia Springs, definitely worth a visit.  Also you can go hiking to find natural springs as well.  There is one not very far from the road, called Kerosene Creek close to Rotorua that is really popular.

Italy!

今日はみなさんにお知らせしておきたいことがあります♪　実は、今日から2ヶ月間、休暇に入ります。その間、イタリア、トルコ、日本に旅行するつもりです!!　でも、みなさんが毎日新しいスラングの勉強が出来るようにもうすでに休暇中のポストも書き終えていますので、ご安心を。今までと変らず毎日Upされます☆ 旅行中に発見した新しい文化の違いなども後々ここに載せますね☆

Just to let you know, I am about to go on a two-month holiday to Italy, Turkey and Japan!  I have plenty of new posts for you coming up so don’t worry you will have plenty of rude words and lovers’ slang to study!  Also I will enjoy reporting back about cultural differences in the countries we visit.

It might mean though that I am a bit slower than normal to answer questions or emails, so please be patient.
