私のアシスタントが私たちのMixiのコミュニティーであそこの毛についての質問を載せました。彼女はアメリカ人男性のルームメイトと一緒に住んでいて、そのアメリカ人ルームメイトA君には日本人の彼女がいます。A君はその彼女に下の毛を剃って欲しいと頼んだようですが、彼女に「無理っ!」と断られ、ビックリしたようです。

ニュージランド出身の私が初めて日本の温泉に行った時、日本人の女の子達が下の毛の処理を全くしていないのを見て正直、驚きました。特に彼女達は他の部分の毛の処理は入念にしているように見えたので、なぜそこだけノータッチなのかと本当にビックリでした！では、欧米では一般的にどうなのでしょうか

English translation:

Kumi, my assistant asked about pubes here in our Mixi community – her roommate is an American guy and he asked his Japanese girlfriend to shave her bush – she refused and he was surprised.

I was surprised the first time I went to a Japanese onsen and saw the big bushes the Japanese girls have, especially as they seem to remove their hair from everywhere else! What is usual in Western countries?

(a) you wax/shave your bikini line and trim your bush
(b) you shave everything
(c) you get a “Brazilian” – wax everything off

You shouldn’t feel pressured if you don’t want to do these things though. I call a full bush “retro bush” as it is like the stars in the 70s porn movies! So if your boyfriend pressures you, just say “I am into retro bush!” He’ll probably laugh.
